Defending champions, Wales, went into Saturday’s game against Ireland with many having already decided the outcome. Although Wales dominated the scoreboard in the 2012 Six Nations championships their recent games have not delivered the results they needed. Half time brought the relief Wales needed and the team that came back out were re-energised and more focused. The pressure came on and the score rose. It was a good hard push from Wales that sadly came a little too late to overtake Ireland.

Next up was the Calcutta Cup clash. Going into this game I was quietly confident that England would play well and retain the Cup after having such a good run in recent games.
